a study has shown that couples who clean have more sex and couples who love to do hosework are more likely to get down and dirty in the sheets.
after reading this i know i will be wondering what people are like when i go to their house and see how tidy or untidy it is.
Apparently if the man of the house helps more the lady is less tired which means no excuses to be given (not that i am saying they do.
this report was from The Sun newspaper so let me know if you think they are correct or not.

I have got a cream rug at home and it was really dirty but living in an apartment it was not easy to get a carpet cleaner as we have wooden floors everywhere else so my boyfriend took the rug to work and washed it with the company jet wash which they use to clean cars with and it came back looking like brand new.
A good tip is to start at one side and work across so all the water goes off the other end..
This is a really easy way to do this but make sure there will be a few nice days as it may take a couple of days to dry.

I went hoover shopping the other day and there seem to be lots of choice out there and i did not have a clue which hoover to buy and the sales man was useless so i just stuck to my usual and bought a Dyson.
My cleaner at work swears but the Henry hoovers (the little ones with the faces and names on) but for a little flat like mine it it is no good as it has the long tube to the handle and i need an all in 1 hoover to maneuver easily.
a handy tip to stop your hoover smelling is to put some bicarbonate of soda in the bag of your hoover…

Have you ever found your shopping goes up a lot when you are topping up your cleaning product supply because i do… I now go online to Tesco.com and purcahse mine from there as they have lots of buy 1 get 1 free or half price offers so you end up saving a small fortune and you get some to keep in stock for when you run out.
Why do they have to make these items so expensive because when you buy the cheap stuff they just don’t work (eg washing up liquid & polish)…
I may seem to be tight with my money, i am not i just don’t like to be ripped off..

I am so lazy when it comes to keeping my home spick and span so i have bitten the bullet and employed a cleaner who comes in for 2 hours every 2 weeks and she is amazing.
I know a lot of people will think i am lazy but hey what do i care what they think.
Everyone presumes that a cleaner will cost a lot of money but there are some out there that charge very little and will do a deal if you do a set rota with them.
They do all the bits that you miss like the skirting boards, cupboard doors and shower screen so they dont just come in and do the basics.

I have found some tips on how to remove spilled items, marks and other stains you may come accross.
How to remove nail varnish - clean the carpet with shampoo (this may not remove all the mark) dab the stain on clothes with nail varnish remover (this may may mark your clothes)
How to remove lipstick - scrape with a knife and rub with soap or washing up liquid
How to remove hair dye – wash clothes in a solution of washing soda and cold water than put through a normal wash
How to remove red wine - dab with white wine or pour over if it is a large area
I hope this helps and if you have any tips let me know.

Have you ever wondered what happens to the huge quantities of rubbish that are produced every day? If rubbish removal is not on your mind 24 hours a day, then you are probably not alone. We chuck out the rubbish and expect it to be gone the next day. (After the dustman wakes you up with the clattering and banging of wheelie-bins early in the morning of course.) With European regulations to increase the amount of waste that gets recycled, more of our rubbish is sorted at source and we have a spectrum of coloured plastic rubbish bins or boxes to separate the different items.
What remains in your bin is the stuff that cannot be recycled. Typically, these are the many different kinds of plastic which are hard to recycle like crisp packets. These go into landfill and will take thousands of years to decompose. It differs from council to council of course. Some councils will allow you just put everything in a single box and they will do the job of sorting what can be used at the recycling centre. Other councils are more strict, making you sort everything and place it into the appropriate box or bin.
Some councils will only remove rubbish that has been left in correct spot. If you leave it one micron to the left of where it should be, it will still be sitting there for another week. If you only have to wait a week then you may consider yourself lucky. Some households have a rubbish collection ever other week so it can sit there festering even longer.

…and I don’t mean polishing it! How easy it to hoard clothes and not get rid of old and very out of date clothing? It is very easy and it s probably a chore which we really put off – I know I do! I have actually got storage boxes of clothes that I can’t bear to part with. Why?
Sort out the clothes you want to throw out into two piles. One pile of clothes that are really wearable e.g. with holes or the old joggers that you might use for panting…how often do you paint…really? Put them in a bin bag and chuck them out (or recycle at your local refuse centre).
Next take the clothes that you haven’t worn for months and give them to a charity shop. Even if you don’t think they are fashionable someone else will and people in developing countries that can’t afford clothes won’t care about the latest trend.

Carpets are the thing in your home which gets the most abuse, from pets, shoes, food and drink stains, a carpet has a tough old life, but here are 3 tips tips to help remove common stains.
Think about the humble baby wipe, yes even if you have no children it is worth keeping a supply of baby wipes in your house, removes light stains without the hassle of having to get a bowl of water and a cleaning product.
And the old housewife tale of using white wine to lift out the stain of red wine, really does work; as long as you apply the white wine immediately. No need to poor on, just dampen a cloth and lightly apply to the red wine and watch it magically lift.
Pet hair is a nightmare to remove, but use a rubber glove and the hair actually rolls off in bundles – voila hairless carpet!

Household chores are probably the most boring and time consuming thing you have to do in life and unless you and Kim and Aggie, then I don’t suppose anyone loves it!
First of all don’t get bogged down with the pressure of having to clean your house all in one day, break each task into smaller ones.
For instance your kitchen and bathroom are rooms in the house where you can clean as you go along. When I’m making dinner I do other tasks at the same time, give the fridge a quick clean, wipe the hob and microwave and always do the washing up when you’ve finished….you don’t want the dishes piling up.
Same with the bathroom, clean the sink during the week, perhaps before you go to bed and a great time saving tip is to try the disinfectant wipes that are now available, they cut cleaning time in half!
As for hovering, get this out of the way in one go and see it as a bit of exercise. Get your MP3 player on and get moving – who said cleaning can’t be fun and think of the calories you are burning whilst hovering to a bit of Girls Aloud!!
